TV Awards - 2007

Best tele-series award goes to ‘Daya’ directed by Saji Surendran, telecasted by Kairali TV. ‘Typewriter’ is the best Tele-Film by T. Deepesh. The best documentary award is for ‘Memories, movements and machine‘. According to the TV Awards - 2007 announced by Kerala Cultural Affairs Minister M.A Baby.

'The best actors of TV' awards has been bagged by actor turned politician K.B Ganesh Kumar and Meera Vasudev. T. Deepesh has won two awards. That for best director and director of the best tele-flim.

Other awards were won by John Britas (Kairali TV), Johny Lukas (Manorama TV) for best interviewers. Sreekandan Nair (Asianet), S Sarachandran (Kairali) Manjush Gopal (Asianet News) P Shajahan (Asianet News) Raj Kalesh (Amrita TV) also won awards.

Manmohan to visit Doha

Doha: Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is expected to arrive in Qatar on November 09, 2008.

This is the first visit of an Indian premier in this oil rich Middle East nation which has thousands of Indian work force. He will discuss bilateral issues with his counterpart, Qatar’s Emir, HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani. PM's visit will boost the tie between India and Qatar in socio-economic sectors. India will convey its support to Qatar for its initiatives to Middle East peace process.

Thousands of Indian expatriates have great expectations over PM's visit that may consider expatriate welfare and employment benefits. Both Qatar and India is expected to engage in trade deals in energy sector.

Workshop on IT for Faculties: 

Allahabad: Ten day workshop on IT for faculties has begun at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A). The workshop as supported by Indian Council of Technical Education and Ministry of Human Resource Development is aimed for upgrading the knowledge and skills of faculties to the latest development in information Technology (IT).

Around 60 members from various colleges are participating in the workshop. They are working in areas of technology, management & distance learning related teaching or e-content development, delivery and presentation.

IIIT-A Director Dr. M.D. Tiwari said that the time had witnessed the emergence of dynamic teaching and student relation supported by interactive modes such as electronic and internet. The program is designed to provide participants with opportunity to engage in activities that will improve their e-content development experience. The operational objective of the workshop is to make high quality learning material available to students of engineering institutions across the country by exploiting the advances in information and communication technology.

K.P. Sudheera

Kozhikode: K.P. Sudheera has been selected for London based Lingual Harmony Award and New York Hindi Gourav award.

All India Poetic Conference National Co-coordinator Dr. Larry Azad announced this.

Sudheera's anthology of eighty four stories "Sudheera's Stories” and "Hridayasmitham", an anthology of poems published in "Samayam" magazine got U.K and U.S awards respectively.

IIIT-A has many projects:

Allahabad: Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad has completed various new projects at its Jhalwa campus. As part of developing infrastructure facilities to achieve the goal of enhancing academic status, two new apartments comprising 50 flats for married research scholars have been constructed. IIIT-A Director Dr. Murli Dhar Tiwari inaugurated twenty flat apartments.

Another 30 flat Apartment will be opened soon for students.

Twenty Six residential flats for teachers and staff are in its final stage, according to IIIT-A press release.
