Kozhikode Town hall witnessed a melodious evening, exclusively dedicated to the old evergreen melodies of Hindi Films in a live show, organized by Calicut Music Club on 13th March .The robust fans who keep remaining passionate of the treasure of Hindi film music, were seen enjoying wholeheartedly. Each and every song, the rare composition of eminent musicians and sung by all-time hit makers of yesteryears, were rejuvenated to the hearts of the admirers by a group of singers who belong to the club.
All the spectators had one in common; ardent longing for the nectar of old music with love, passion and nostalgia.
‘Dekh hamen awaaz na dena’, Kaise aoon jamuna ke teer, Ratrangeeligaye re, Main nigahen tere chehre se, Zindaagi aaj mere naam se, Baharoon ki duniya,Tumjo aao to pyaar aajaye…the list of selection of songs go on.
Around 30 best songs, sung by Mukesh, Asha, Mohammed Rafi, Talat Muhammad, Kishore Kumar, and Lata were included in the show.

“Our objective is to promote the golden songs of the good old days among the young generation, majority of them are attracted to the latest fast trends alone and unable to learn the cream of old songs.”-says Dr.Rajindranath, the president, Calicut Music Club.
He added that their real success lied on the participation of youngsters among the general fraternity, especially from campus. In near future, he hoped, the club would try to focus for attracting more youth.
“We can present songs on campuses as we are equipped with tracks of around 500 evermore songs.”Dr. Rajindranath noted.
“The selected songs have all the essence of musical perfection. Once you attracted to these songs, you can’t help keeping enjoy it”-says Arangil Vasudevan, the vice president of Calicut Music Club.
Calicut Music Club has been functioning for the last 11 years with remarkable presence in the city’s musical life. As of now the club has around 125 active members among different walks of life; comprising of physicians, bank men, business men, teachers and some students.
Town hall was packed with music lovers from the club’s circle and few as special invitees.
“We have presented around 1400 golden hits in 41 stages in the city surroundings with a massive fan support. The specification of our club is that all singers are amateurs, even if their performances sometimes go beyond professional style.”-comments Dr.Rajindranath, he is also a good singer.
All the songs were strictly belonged between forties to sixties, the golden melody era of Hindi Film Music.
A.Karvarnan, Rekha Nair, Ramya and Venugopal were among the singers of town hall live show.
