The Boat which drowned over 18 precious lives had no characteristics of an usual Boat. It was actually a temporary setup of building of a platform over two or three boats clubbed together.
At present all the three ‘boats’ available for service at this popular Bird Sanctuary are of this category. These temporary ‘put together Boats’ usually do not have any security accessories such as life boats, life jackets, or rubber tubes to be used at emergencies. The officials only certify these mechanized platforms ‘fit’ for sailing but it is not legally enough to transport people around.
Such temporarily setup Boats need regular maintenance works and an expert staff to sail it around because it can loose balance easily. But the killer boat was neither maintained well nor had competent staff members according to the reports.
