The trade fair was another instant hit among the locals. The bamboo house set up by the Kerala state bamboo corporation has been the best crowd puller.
Bamboo had been used to build the bed room, drawing room, kitchen, and bathroom of the house. There were stall set by the Kerala State Bamboo Mission , Uravu- a non-governmental organization and the Kerala forest Research Institute. Uravu had displayed lamp shades, chairs, pens, penstands, clocks, hangers, and other products made of bamboo. Cane furniture’s were also on display at some stalls.
Coir mats and other coir products were displaced at the stalls of the Directorate of Coir Department. The Hand woven products were available at a 30% discount. Products such as ‘muruku’ and ‘Kozhikodan halwa’ were available at the stall set up by the small scale production units. Handicrafts items were on the show at the Kairali and the Surabi stalls. The stalls put up by the Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board displayed high quality footware, silk, and cotton sarees. The stalls put up by the private industries provided the visitors with the opportunity of shopping for a wide range of products ranging from exercising devices to textiles all at an affordable price. Eco-friendly septic tanks and electronic two wheelers were stars of the show at these stalls.
