Calicutans had a rare opportunity to familiarize with the Islamic tradition through books, attires and ornaments, recently. Almost all Muslim segments of the society came under one roof to participate in the exhibition.
Kozhikode Islamic Heritage Trust organized Kardova Islamic fair at Kandamkulam Jubilee Hall in Kozhikode. A wide variety of Islamic books, periodicals, online web sites for Islamic learning, age-old pamphlets, traditional Islamic attires, ornaments, fragrances, were on display.
Rare collection of books like smallest Holy Quran with description in four volumes was on display. Complete translation of Quran was another attraction in the spiritual segment.
Amani Maulavi’s Viswasiyude oru divasam, Daivam, matham, saree-at….samsayangalku marupadi, Kutubul Alam’s Nammude Nabi (two parts) Fadees Arthavum Vyakhyanavum, Anweshanathinte Atmabhali were among the books displayed.
Many books were meant for children’s development from a religious perspective.
Al-Jawahir Arabic-English dictionary Allahu tha Alaayude ouliyakkal, Hajj, Umra, Siyarath, Books o nMoppila songs, Madrassa guides, Mullayum Kuttikalum,1001 Hadeesukal were some of them.
Purdahs in various designs were on display for sale at attractive prize. Men’s prayer dresses, Islamic ethnic ornaments were also available.
Many educational institutions offering Islamic way of learning also participated in the event.
Various publishers and organizations offered a limited discount on all materials.
Major Islamic newspaper publishers like Chandrika, Madhyamam, Varthamanam, Thejas, Siraj were among the participants.
Hundreds of religious CDs including famous religious speeches and practices also attracted the visitors.
Around fifty stalls were arranged to organize the mega fair. Sadik Ali Shihab Thangal inaugurated ‘Kordova’.
Rahmathulla khasimi Muthedam, O.Abdurahman, T.P. Cherooppa, Muhammad Kuttasseri, Prof. Abdul Hameed, Syed Muhamammad Nisami, Sheikh Muhammad Karakkunnu, Abdussakoor AL-Khasimi, A.Syed, P.M.A Gafoor, Suhair Chungathara, Ali Ashraf, K.H.Ashraf spoke at the inaugural session.
A photo exhibition of Ajeeb Komachi added colour to the fair.
