Celebration of 165th Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival is ongoing at Semmangudi Nagar (Padmasree Kalyana Mandapam, Tali) in Kozhikode. The festival will conclude on 12th February, 2012.
Each day begins with the music of devotees, followed by famous musicians.
The second evening of the festival presented a recital by K.R Harikrishnan. He sung Kalikeyunde, a keerthanam in Keeravani Ragam.
Eswara Varma (Violin), VR Narayana Prakash (Mridangam) and SVSN Viswanathan (Ghatam) accompanied him on stage. Kunnakudi M.Balamuralikrishna’s recital was the second item of the evening, accompanied by K.Viswanathan (Violin), Bangalore V.Praveen (Mridangam), Kovai Suresh (Ghatam). N.Viswesarayar’s vocal was the third event. Ambalapuzha Pradeep (Violin), Sreekanth Pulicken (Mridangam), Aluva Gopalakrishnan (Ghatam) gave the accompaniments. The waves of divine ragas filled the minds of music lovers, who assembled there to enjoy the renderings in carnatic style.
The festival will conclude on 12th Feb with Anjaneyotsavam. Major attraction of the final day is Unchavrithi, followed by the Pancharathnakeerthanas by Alapana and Aradhana.
