Higher education aspirants in the UK can simply focus on their quality education rather than jobs there. India is going through fantastic growth and anybody, undergoing higher education abroad can return home to join good jobs here, said Nim Bahadur, Manager, Education UK (South India). He was speaking in a seminar ‘Education UK’, organized by the British council in Kozhikode.
Foreign education can be considered as a facilitator for better career opportunities.
Earlier, students who pursued higher education in the UK could seek income by doing odd jobs without many constraints. The situation is changing and students can seek part time employment in their subject area alone. New migration rules won’t allow students to engage in jobs irrelevant to their core studies in the U.K.
Many students are not aware of the scholarships .So, specialization in subjects and .exploration of suitable institutions offering various scholarships would be beneficial. ’- he said.
Foreign education aspirants from various parts of Calicut city attended the seminar, conducted at Hotel Hyson. Long term planning and preparation would help students to get hassle- free admission to various courses of their interest in foreign countries.
‘One should have confidence and pre-planning to pursue higher education in the UK.
Developing English language and soft skills are essential to get accommodated in the UK. Following the rules and regulations also is very important.
Students can set a course content depending on their need and affordability and pick a suitable campus abroad.’ Keep an eye on your ambition and narrow down your focus to specific institution and subject.’-he pointed out.
April-2012 onwards there will be new rules for migration students and job seekers.
This doesn’t t mean the opportunities are limited; instead the quality of education and work condition are turning to be value added and attractive.
Participant’s queries on visa system, language skill and other procedures for higher education were answered in the seminar.
L.Dhanasekharan, Karthik Rajasekharan, Benny also spoke on various topics.
